Hotel Aurora is located in Chiessi, on the western coast of the Island of Elba. It was founded in April 1960 by Ettore Piacentini, one of the first to recognise the tourism potential of the small village of Chiessi, where a road had only recently been built. Over more than 50 years of history, the hotel has remained under the management of the Piacentini family and has undergone several renovations, the most significant of which took place in 1999–2000, giving the hotel the appearance it has today. Today, Hotel Aurora offers comfortable rooms, ideal for couples and families wishing to spend their holiday on the Island of Elba in a peaceful corner of paradise, far from mass tourism.

In the main lounge next to the reception, guests can admire the beautiful paintings created with refined elegance by the artist Mimma Cuffaro Ferruzzi, daughter of the renowned Sicilian sculptor and wife of the architect Paolo Ferruzzi, who was responsible for the hotel's latest architectural renovation, giving the interiors a rustic yet elegant style.

Located directly by the sea, the hotel is divided into four buildings. The main building houses the reception, the main lounge and the bar area with sea-facing terraces, where guests can enjoy breakfast while overlooking the sea. All areas are fully air-conditioned when needed, and the entire property enjoys uninterrupted sea views. During spring and autumn, it is often possible to see the mountains of Corsica on the horizon, and with a little luck, dolphins swimming across the waters of the small bay.

Higher up, a panoramic terrace offers breathtaking views of the bay and its beautiful sunsets, the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif.

Opposite the main building stands the first of the hotel's three annexes, created from one of the village's earliest wine cellars, built at the beginning of the twentieth century. The second annex is located next to the main building, while the third, surrounded by gardens, lies just below. From here, a short flight of steps leads directly to the crystal-clear sea for a refreshing swim.
